Who I Am...

I am a 27 year old runner currently trying my hardest to get back into shpe (besides round).  I was at one time pretty quick (sub 16 5k) (sub 1:55 1/2 mile) but now i run because i love doing it (and the military says i have too)!  I am a father of 2 and happily married.  I live near Pismo Beach and you can find me often running in the sand.  I am always looking for running partners so please leave me a message if interested.  I have recently been picked up by the Brooks ID program and will be supporting Brooks in my races.  Lets hope they can shave those unwanted seconds of my time.

week 1 finished a little wild

Well i didnt get to finish off the week as planned.  I wanted to run at least 10 on sat but a small injury stopped that.  As i was about 5 miles into my run i was crossing a barb wire fence and caught my knee.  Nothing serious but i was bleeding enough to be worried at the time.  After i stopped and cleaned it up it was only a flesh wound (what movie is that from?)  I ran a little under 8 today giving me 51 for the week.  Its been a while since i broke the 50 mile barrier.  Felt good this week and plan to run around the same next week.

I'm actually deployed to Kirkuk, just a few miles from Balad. Have you ever been to the KRAB? I haven't been to Balad yet, but I have been to FOB Speicher. We have AF folks here too, interesting group of folks. smile.gif. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just mean it's so strange to see all these people walking around stress-free, when soldiers in the Army uses stress to motovate. Airmen smiling and relaxed, Soldiers tense and scowling. It's in interesting dynamic for people who study behavior.

How many miles per week does the military require you to run? Do they really make you run at the crack of dawn every morning?

That is awesome! Kick some butt at the Alumni meet! Yeah, we put together a team of 5 people from the 402nd, all the actual running club members are gone. I ended up winning the mile in 4:51, I guess not bad for not training for it, then got third in the 800 with a bad time, no need to post...lol. It was a blast though. I checked the CHU and there are no more, I will email my people back home and get a shirt made, what size? Medium, Large?

Hey, good to hear from ya! I will check back in teh CHU to see if I have any more shirts, if not, I believe they were like 6 bucks to make, so pretty cheap. That is awesome you are part of the Brooks ID program! I am also a member. I think this will be my third year. Great company! Any races coming up? Just the normal 5ks going on here. Hope all continues to go well!
