September Full Moon

Beautiful night.  Fabulous turnout.  All Star cast.

Ben Renich, Davey, and Joyce Siamon, along with

Pup, Solo, Harold, the east siders (Mark, Brad, Eric,

and a youngster I didn't meet) ...... eleven total.

The party on top was just as good as we've ever had.

We gave Joyce a head start down the main backside,

which is the way we ascended.  Tommy and I were the

last to leave the top.  A third of the way down Harold

and Dave caught Joyce and walked a few minutes with her,

then moved along.  Tommy had left me, so I was last and

waiting to find Joyce.  Didn't happen.  I knew when I got

to the parking lot that she wouldn't be there, and she wasn't.

In the few minutes after the guys left her and Tommy and

I should have caught her, she took a left at the powerline

trail.  She wandered to the bottom gate, worked her way

back up, and started and stopped on a couple of different

options.  She had no phone.  Meanwhile Davey and I do

a circle of the powerline south route and come up empty.

We return to the cars, make some calls for more help.

Then we start back up the main trail and Davey goes right

on trail 4 and I continue up .......  we can hear each yelling

for Joyce, Dave just below me.  Just before I hit the powerline

(for the third time), I hear DC yell that he's found her.  She

was walking toward him on trail 4 after seeing a sign for the

east trailhead.  When I say it was a 'Ronnel' experience, many

of you will know of what I speak, only this one was in the dark.

She was fine and it ended the way it started .....  a beautiful night.

We can always say that when it ends well.  Some adventure.

Of course the replay when I got home soured the evening a bit,

but the moon night was memorable.
