Training

It just feels so good to be training hard again.  Since it is only my first week I am taking it relatively easy.  But, I have had some really encouraging workouts this week that have somewhat surprised me.  I ran 10 miles at La Verne Trails and I felt great.   It had probably been 2 1/2 years since I have ran that far, but my legs felt like springs.  Ran 8x200 meters with a 200 meter jog rest on Tuesday (averaged under 30 for them).  Then today I ran 2x2miles  on the road with 4 minutes rest(5:35 pace) Felt surpirsingly good with that as well.  It was absolutely beautiful outside as I could see the snowcapped foothills and mountains just above me.  Mt. Baldy looks like it has a lot of fresh snow.

Anyways, I am just trying to get in some workouts that will get me into better shape.  I thank God for allowing me to feel this pleasure of running and training again.  It is a gift from HIm.  My goal for this year is that I would set a p.r. in the 800, but will see how that goes as I am only one week into my training.  The desire is strong right now, but I don't know if it will continue to burn within me later down the road.  But as for now, I am loving training and will try and make the most of it.

Are you from Idaho? I believe that is where Mt. Baldy is located.
