Portland Track Festival up next

Oregon Elite Meet is now concluded. Great meet despite the tough weather on distance kids (but great for sprinters). Highlights for me were the steeplechase (of course) and the boys vault.

Next up for me and the steeplechase crew is the Portland Track Festival June 13th. Looking forward to running in the 2K steeple and hopefully having a little cooler weather so I can throw down a decent time before the Oregon Assn and NW Regional Champs on June 27th @ Mt. Hood CC as part of the Portland Masters meet.

Yo, Josh - good to hear from you! I would go up to Spokane, but there are several reasons I wont:

1. Can't afford it - going up to The Gorge to see Tom Petty on the following weekend.

2. The Steeple almost killed me. Every time I landeat in the water pit, I tweaked my ankle. Plus I died hard

I did do drills about 6-7 times beforehand, but nothing prepares for the water jump or jumping hurdles for 10 minutes straight. And I have not done once for 9 years!

I would like to do another one next summer some time, maybe even in the spring at some rinky dink college meet. I'm glad to see you getting after it. What else are you up to these days?
