Who I Am...

Hello,

My name's Matt and I am the photo editor for RunnerSpace.com.

Go ahead and post any questions about the photo section on this profile. We're working hard to make the photo section more user-friendly and functional, so keep checking back for improvements.

We invite anyone to post pictures on the site. I hope this site can connect runner photographers (pros and ametures) everywhere! Every event I go to I see tons of people taking pictures, if just a few of them went home and uploaded their best shots we could make Runnerspace the go-to place for running photos around the nation. But that's all up to you all out there, I'm just here to get the ball rolling!

Photo of the Week—Oct. 8

Here's a pretty straightforward one: Bloody Nipples!

My friend Ian was sitting at the finish line of the Portland Marathon Sunday morning, dutifully watching the LCD screen of the camera making sure every finisher was documented for the world to see, when he spotted this guy. Ian's eyes instantly locked on the guy's chafetastic nips, probably forcing his camera to stray from the finish line as he whispered to us in amazement “That guy’s nipples are so bloody!” So if anyone that finished the Portland Marathon on Sunday didn’t get their finish uploaded to the Internets, you can blame this guy and his nips.

But what a trooper, right? Staring at the nipple-level bloodstains we couldn’t help but cringe as we tried to imagine how many miles he had run with that kind of chafing. 10 miles? 15 miles? That’s endurance right there. I give that guy the gutsy award for the day. No, the week. My only question is, what is left where his nipples were? Just some smooth circle patches?

hey my name is janna if you like taking pictures i have a digital camera i absolutely love! its amazing its bright orange and it also is waterproof so i can take pics in the pool and ocean and wherever really its my profile pic me and my bff underwater at our crosscountry swim party!!! worth the price which isnt very much under $150 and is 10 mega pixel!! whoo i love it haha

You've got that right bud, I started PT last week and have to continue to go for the next few. I am worse off then I thought and am really bummed about it. Out for the season and possibly part of november.. cant even cross train. Its making me crazy! but, thats what I get for pushing it... story of my life. How's eugene? we have six inches of snow!!! Burr

I figured NBC had some sort of monopoly because their website is the only one I could find that showed any of the actual races. I don't blame you for that as much as I blame Barnhart. Spaniards, huh?

Thanks a lot for the comment! I don't shoot for anyone at the moment, I'm a brand new photographer! I went and bought my camera last week, applied for a press pass a few days ago and lucky for me, my first picture experience was the Pre Classic! If you know anyone who is looking for a freelance photographer, let me know! I'm new to this whole site, and its a little confusing! Is there a way to upload a whole folder at one time? I was uploading 10 photos at a time. Is it always this slow of a process?

Not a problem Matt--glad you enjoy it. It was over xmas break when a few friends and I went to Tokyo for a week. Annie, a current runner at Mississippi State Univ. had to do 4X1600 and what better place than on an Olympic track? You are exactly right with the "zone" i was trying to capture in the pic. She was in between number 3&4 and gettin ready for the last one...Oh, and thanks for the eternal glory and runnerspace honor! haha
