| | Who I Am...I am a Junior at Arcadia High School. I run under the coaching of Coach Jim O'Brian, who happens to know what he's doing. My love for running has always been in me, but I didn't really love it as a sport until the end of my 8th grade year. I am blessed to have the team that I have, and the friends that have come out of what I consider as the "greatest sport on earth". And yes, I do have a life outside of running... I am a 3D animator and designer, also I love photography and music. I am part of the Arcadia High School's Orchestra, in which I play the violin, my solemnly chosen instrument since the fourth grade. I love soccer as well, I guess that's a given because of my nationality. Yes I am Mexican, and proud to be it too. Other hobbies might include a newfound love; swimming and body surfing, as well as writing. Other than that I guess I'm just another runner in this vast world of runners. Wall - 0 followers

Well how to begin.. We did our annual trip up north to Palo Alto for the Stanford Invitational. We go there every year for the chance to run against the northen teams that we don't see as often. This year we had two team go out there to represent, a Varsity, and another Varsity. This is proof of our depth. I believe that having both our varsity teams out there really brought a great team unity to us. One more thing to add would be the major fact that we were also honored to have the prestigious Catrina Mcalister joining us in this trip. It was her second year joining our team. Our perspective was set throughout. We all had a huge eyesight for what we called "our plan". And why you ask did I put quotations. Well our coach had a set goal for us, but in our hearts we knew that we could go faster. Our actions were the only thing left for us to prove or worth. Therefore "our plan" was a huge understatement for the real us inside. We had a chance to let it rip, run fast, and more importantly smart. and so our race begins... Our plan to go out and settle worked well.. I could see that ammar had taken it out fast and held it at that . Fast. He took the leaders with him, and they responded like fish to the hook. My plan was to stay relaxed and chill behind my teammates Allen Leung, and Ryan Vargas. They went out fairly fast for their pace, and it was all good. Once 800 meters hit we raised our hands to indicate the other runners on our team of our position within our race. Ammar was in the front and I was still behind my team mates. Once the hill ended, I left my teammates after wishing them luck and giving them a quick tap. The rest of the race was designed in my mind as a catch, drop, move on, type of mindset. And to my surprise, It worked! I was able to prevail and come through in second behind my teammate ammar moussa. Our team ran GREAT!! And I'm very proud of them.. :) TThis year we had some great success. Hopefully it keeps on going through to the end of the season. Catrina Mcalister had a great race that afterwards placed her first in the nation for 5k. As I said before her prestige was very well honored and appreciated. Great Race Catrina!!
Good Day For Arcadia!... and we keep on running. Guestbook | Videos |
