My family is kind of psycho (I do love them and visit often) and in a futal attempt to excape the maddness, I moved to Oregon for college. There I ran for Pacific University, XC and track (I graduated May, 2007 with a degree in Biology). My entire time at Pacific, myself and one other girl were the only two females to run all 4 years. I'm used to training alone, however, I hate it. I love running, but having company is deffinetly better then being alone. I'm pretty slow at shorter distances but have eternal endurance, making me the ideal lo, typical, long distance runner. My goal is to break 3 hrs for the marathon, but I know that won't be for a few years being that I have never run a maraton before (I'm only 23 for god sakes!). For now, I am going to stick to 10K's-half marathons. I am a little worried about my ability to race such long distances because I have a horrible stomach and digestive system...I honestly don't know if I could make it without having to stop to use the restroom...but I'll figure that out when the time comes.
I'm currently living in Beaverton, Oregon right by Nike campus. Almost all of my runs include at least 1 loop over there so if you are in the area, message me and we can run!
Lets see...what else...I am working as a starbucks barista...thats pretty sweet...I like it. Free coffee is one of the most amazing things ever.
I just got into medical school, so I am pretty pumped about that. In July I'll be moving to Mesa, AZ for a year then I will be in Brooklyn, NY for 3 years. I am pretty friken excited. Of course I'll still be running. I'm not sure how running in Phoenix in July is though...perhaps I will start a blog on that one to ask for advice on surviving the hot temperatures. I am thinking about going into woman's health, and especially working with woman athletes. I think we need more woman doctors that understand woman athlete's health issues.
I also love poetry, long walks on the beach, and have a nack for making a complete fool of meself whenever the opportunity presents itself. Latest Blog UpdateNo Blog found
