Sheryl Running

My name is Sheryl Breck and I grew up in a small town called Ontario, Oregon. A quick fact about Ontario, Oregon is that the town has the highest pregnancy rate. I started running cross country and track and field in seventh grade. I have always had passion for running since I was a little girl. I enjoyed running in every race in middle school. I joined the YMCA club called Running Banana in Idaho. The club helped my running ability to improve. In, seventh grade I run the 1500m in 4:47 time & 800m 2:18 in. All the hard work and determination pay off in my races. I joined Mt. Steins Running camp as a freshman in High School. I benefit from that running camp and never since than I had been going there for five years. I’m in a book called Woman Who Run by Shanti Sosienski. "It's hard to believe now, but just forty years ago, women weren't allowed to run long-distance races..."

Always good to hear from a fellow Mt Hood Rat! I'm barely surviving the everyday struggle of balancing running, real life, and injury. It's not too bad though, I'm running a 5K this weekend, so we'll see then.

Hey Sheryl, it's so nice to hear from you! Running has been going pretty well, didn't race too much this xc season but it's ok. UO has been very enjoyable, and running for them is definitely quite an experience(from their coaching styles to team atmosphere). How have you been, how's running?
Toma (Nov 17 2008, 05:46 AM)
Sheryl, didn't know you were a member of RunnerSpace. Good job this xc season.
