Who I Am...

My name is Jeff Makjavich.  I am a senior at Sprague High School in Salem, Oregon.  I started running competitively last year as a Sophomore in cross country.

It's the best experience when your team shares the same level of dedication and all strive to achieve the best that we can possibly achieve.  I pour my soul into running.

I've just been rolling with the punches lately. Injuries haven't treated me kindly, so I wasn't able to run for 6 months. That sucked. But everything happens for a reason, so whatever happens happens. Life is what you make it I guess. The injuries give me a chance to reflect on more important things in life that I perhaps was neglecting while running.

I really want to run in college and be a part of an awesome team of really committed and good people.

A lot of people are physically unable to run, so I do my best to praise God with every step I take for the gift He has given me.

Jesuit Twilight Relays

Up at Jesuit High School yesterday, at the Twilight Relays, our 4x800 team ran really well.  Most of us ran PRs for our relays splits.  I need to check with my former coach, but we may have even set the school record.  We placed 4th in a time of 8:28 behind some high-quality teams (notably South Eugene and Jesuit both breaking the 8 minute barrier).

The DMR didn't go that great but when the coaches put me as the 400 meter leg, you know that they aren't taking the race seriously. :)

The meet was run perfectly and it was the most fun that I've had ever competing in track!

So you don't think your coaches had their heads screwed on securely when they put you in the 400 DMR leg? What's your 400 PR?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for checking in.  The DVD will be release this fall for the cross country season.  We have not confirmed a release date yet, but will be doing so very soon.  Once the date is set we will be announcing pre-sales and the DVD release date.

Thanks for the support.

Also the Olympic Distance coach Joe Vigil has said "it's a must see for anyone who loves running."

Hi Jeff,

We don't know at this moment if the film will be coming to Salem, but we are trying to get the film out to as many places as we can.  It will be playing at the Running Film Festival in Eugene, OR in July during the Olympic Time Trials.  The DVD is scheduled to be release this fall so we'll keep everyone informed as things run along.  Thanks for the support and please pass on the word to all the runners in Salem.

Thanks for the name on the Hayley Caldwell long jump video.  Most of the field events that we filmed we didn't know the name of the person and just hope somebody (like you did) will recognize them and tell us so we can add their name.  Thanks.
