Flores throws meet record to win NCAA D3 title

Eric Flores (California Lutheran) capped off his impressive season with a dominant win at the NCAA Division III Championships at Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio. Flores took the lead in the second round and improved again in the fifth round to 66.35m. Flores not only won the competition by over 4 meters, but he also set a new NCAA Division III meet record. Taylor Berliant (Claremont Mudd Scipps) threw new personal bests in the first and second rounds, btu still finished back in second at 62.22m. Defendign champion Brian Kolacz threw a season best of 60.12m for third place.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh took an unprecedented three of the top four spots on the women's side. Season leader Holly Ozanich (Wisconsin-Oshkosh) was less than a meter off of her best and took home the women's title. Ozanich threw her best in the third round (you can view video of her best throw here), but was nearly caught in the fourth round by runner-up Christa Youngbern's (California Lutheran) best of 56.99m. Susie Trzebiatowski (Wisconsin-Oshkosh) improved in the final round to finish in third at 55.79m. Defending champion Ellie Sitek (Wisconsin-Oshkosh) was in fourth, helping give her school massive points in the event.
