(53.4) [4:27.1]
NOTES: With "sit & kick" pre-race plans, execution was very good
tactically
then
"no kick today" reality. Likely training phase related. Not a
concern
in the bigger picture.

NOTES: Coach & athlete let meet management's catch-up clerking catch
them off guard thus Juan was rushed in warm-up and never felt
comfortable.
Lesson learned: better in this setting to be warming
up a
little too early than too late! On a "bad day" this result
bodes
well
for a fast 1500 in the future.

bonus.

COACH’S
TEAM NOTES: American High Performance Series kicks off May 30. Show Time...
Who wants to go to Eugene?!
Billy
Hayes Invitational - Experience with previous meet delays pays
off
for
Austin as he managed a big delay very well and posted his fastest time
in two
years and was just hundredths of a second off of his three year old
PR.
A month of speed work and Austin has an opportunity for his first USA
National
Qualifier. Juan took a second step forward toward understanding
the
1500 with a modest PR on a "bad day".
Jesse
Owens Classic - Good Team Camp location and dynamics over the
course
of two day meet. Very good experiences with rabbiting by Mason,
Ricky
& Adrian.
GINA Relays - Good individual outings by Mason & Juan. Team Camp area
could
have been better re distractions being in the crowd. Second week
in a
row provided a great experience in learning to manage the unexpected
as the
meet was visited with a storm delay.
Sea Ray Relays - good individual efforts by Austin & Mason.
Good
team spirit and attitude with the group.
DMR
guys had a good attitude though a lot of rust re relay racing BUT
that is
the reason we were there running a relay... next year on the
men's
side of the roster we will be looking for a sub-9:40 which
would
result in a respectable new club record for the event.
