We're down to the final fifty days before the freshman arrive at the college, and there's way to much to accomplish.  Staff is working hard on completing everything, including the budget by August 15th so we can order product and register for even...

Running Quotes

"Cross Country is like life." - John Fisher (The Long Green Line)

"However fast you are running, run faster." - Joe Newton, Coach York HS XC (The Long Green Line)

"Never take yourself too seriously." - Joe Newton, Coach York HS XC (The Long Green Line)

"Jogging through the forest is pleasant, as is relaxing by the fire with a glass of gentle Bordeaux and discussing one's travels. Racing is another matter. The frontrunner's mind is filled with an anguished fearfulness, a panic, which drives into pain." - Kenny Moore

"I have never been a killer. I'm not an aggressive personality and if I can remember any emotion I felt during a race it was fear. The greatest stimulator of my running was fear." - Herb Elliott

"You can actually suffer a little bit more going slowly than when you're going really fast. A faster marathon might even be easier than a slow one, in terms of what it takes out of you mentally." - Frank Shorter

Who I Am...

I'm an Assistant Director of Admission at Champlain College as well as Staff Advisor to the 2009-2010 Champlain Running Team.  I'm currently training for the 2010 VT City Marathon on May 30th, 2010 with a goal of 3:09 to qualify for 2011 Boston Marathon.  I travel 4-5 months a year to recruit students in Pennsylvania, Maryland & DC, Delaware, Virginia, and southern New Jersey.  While in the office, I am responsible for the reading and processing (including decision making) on 500-600 out of the total 3,000 applications we receive each year.

As an avid runner, nutrition is important to me, but I could always strive to eat better.  As Staff Advisor, my goal this season is to create an equal-opportunity team full of marathoners, cross country/road runners, and track and field athletes.  A minimum of three official runs will be scheduled each week, and each athlete will receive a schedule based upon his/her ability if they so choose.  It is a club that is run by it's athletes.
