Rockland County boys soccer Athlete of the Season: Pearl River's Giovanni GalvanoThis run around the infield of an Oregon horse track was the one last race in Mary Cain's cross country season to remember, the one last test to pass, the ultimate test against the nation's elite.
The Bronxville sophomore earned an "A" — as in All-American, first-team All-American.
That was the bonus prize for an impressive sixth-place finish in her first Nike Cross Nationals, held Saturday at Portland Meadows in Portland.
