In girls Class C action on Monday, Gabrielle Jennings ran 18:54.11 for the win. She won by almost three minutes. Her little sister, Madelyn, an eighth grader, was second in 21:45.

Conditions were warm and windy. Jennings is a talent and was hoping for something under 18 minutes.

Worth noting ... they do things a little different in Louisiana ... three of the top seven finishers in this race were sixth graders. The eighth place finisher was a fifth grader.

In Class 5A ...

Senior Mia Meydrich of Dominican ran 18:06.30 to win the title, by 20 seconds.

It was Parkway over Dominican at the top of the team standings, however, 70-85.


Eric Coston, a FRESHMAN, from St. Paul's, ran 15:15.79 for the win.

His team was an easy winner with 34 points.


ALL RACES 3 MILES

Class 4A:

Carley Boyce of St. Scholastica, a senior, ran 18:54.88 for the win.

St. Thomas More got the team title with 55 points and St. Scholastica was second with 68.


Senior Drake Heinz of Benton ran 16:17.61 for the 4A boys title.

Benton scored 40, going 1-3-6-10-20 for the win.

In 3A -- Sacred Heart's girls scored 35 points as sophomore Catherine Belle Paulk won in 19:25.07

Sophomore Devyn Keith ran 16:08.58 to lead John Curtis HS, which went 1-4-5-6-9 for 25 points.
