Returns to winner’s circle with a sweep of top five places in sectional, with Jillian Fanning back in the line-up as third scorer. State public schools meet is this Saturday.

2. Pennsbury HS, Fairless Hills, PA [17]
Defeats previously unbeaten Unionville by 43 points in state 3A showdown for third straight title with spectacular 18:58 5K average and 27-second spread on extremely tough Hershey course.

3. Xavier Prep, Phoenix, AZ [2]
Victorious Sarah Fakler wins third straight title while leading the Gators to their sixth straight Division I title over a strong Mountain View Mesa squad.

4. Carmel HS, Carmel, IN [1]
Wins one-race state final by 81 points on the LaVern Gibson course in Terre Haute.

5. Tatnall HS, Wilmington, DE [4]
Wins county title with 19 points as fifth scorer continues closing the gap, state meet on Saturday.

6. Assumption HS, Louisville, KY [3]
Wins regional with 22 points, state meet on Saturday.

Second to Pennsbury in state 3A championship.

Wins state Division I title by 19 points over Grosse Pointe South in one of the big upsets of the championship season.

Wins regional by 60 points, state 5A showdown on Saturday with traditional rivals The Woodlands and Kingwood.
