TEMECULA — She’s had a giant of a cross country program on one side of her and a behemoth on the other. So at times during her four-year career at Temecula Valley, it’s been easy for Angela Ziff to be lost in the Southwestern League’s high-stakes shuffle.
For her final two high school cross country races, Ziff is hoping there will be no losing her. Or no losing, period.
The senior will toe the line at Mt. San Antonio College in today’s CIF-Southern Section Finals meet for the fourth time in her four years with a chance to qualify for her first CIF State Championship meet. Ziff leads a Southwest County contingent that includes both boys and girls teams from Temecula Great Oak, Vista Murrieta’s girls, Murrieta Mesa’s Taylor Taite, Temecula Linfield Christian’s Andrew Russell, and Linfield’s girls team.
All of them would like to be a top-seven team, or a top individual qualifying for the state meet Thanksgiving weekend in Fresno.
