OFSAA results ‘big feat’ for small schoolBy Rebecca Potter, Special to the EchoPosted 10 hours agoStudent athletes from the Haliburton Highlands Secondary School track team were thrilled to compete in the most recent Ontario meet in Sudbury June 2 to 4. The junior girls' 4x100m relay team, comprised of Ali Hicks, Sarah Comer, Sandy Griffith, and Brigitta Hicks, came in 17th overall. Tom Paul competed in the midget mens' 300m hurdles, and came in 19th. Charlene Hicks came 11th in the midget womens' 80m hurdles, and finished seventh in triple jump. In the junior womens' 80m hurdles, Ali Hicks placed 18th and Brigitta Hicks placed seventh. In the womens' 300m hurdles, Ali Hicks placed third overall. Bruce Griffith, the team's coach, commended the athletes on their effort saying they did very well for such a small school. "Ali Hicks came in third and picked up a bronze medal, which is great.
