EXETER – If numbers told the whole story of Beth Kester's first OFSAA track and field appearance, you'd assume she was the 10th-best shot-putter in the province among midget girls this season.
But had she equalled her personal best – the 9.75-m throw she managed at the OFSAA West Regional qualifier – she would have been among the province's top four.
It's something the South Huron District High School Grade 9 student can chew on as she prepares for her sophomore year.
Kester was South Huron's only representative at the OFSAA track and field meet in Sudbury earlier this month, having captured gold standing in shot put at the Huron Perth and WOSSAA levels along the way.
