McQueen's Connor Ross raced past Cody Foreman (Reed) and Jordan Cardenas (Reno and 2012 Nevada State XC Champion at 5K) in the last leg of the 4x800 relays.
After receiving the baton on the last leg, Connor was about 15 yards behind Cardenas and 5 yards behind Foreman and won going away.
Evidently there is a huge difference between leg turnover speed for 800 meter runners and longer distance guys as Connor proved so dramatically because it wasn't even close at the finish line.
Connor Ross (Soph) broke the Reed Sparks Rotary underclassman stadium record last Saturday for the 800m and is currently ranked #2 in the Nevada at 800m distance.
Conner (now supporting a new buzz cut rather than the mop that was a week earlier) looks just that much faster. Good choice!
