St. Mary’s cross country success a team effort

OTTAWA — Led by its midget girls team and a junior boys runner, St. Mary Secondary School in Cobourg had one of its most successful cross country seasons ever this fall, culminating at the provincial high school championships this past weekend.

Individual results are only one component of cross country running. The results of an entire team are equally, if not more, important. Team points are accumulated by adding up the positions of where each of the team's top four runners place. The top team is the one that finishes with the lowest score.
