Georgia track and field duo a dominant force in heptathlon and decathlon - The Red and Black : SportsPublished by
The heptathlon and decathlon are widely recognized as two of the most demanding competitions, not only in track and field, but in all of sports. Most teams would be lucky to have one good competitor at these events, but Georgia has two of the best in the nation in sophomore Maicel Uibo and junior Garrett Scantling. During the 2013 indoor season, the two formed a dynamic duo that became a force, not only in the Southeastern Conference, but nationally as well. In his freshman campaign, Uibo finished second in the SEC indoor heptathlon and fourth in the NCAA indoor heptathlon.
