Testomonials

We don't always get it right, but we have learned from our mistakes in the past, and more and more we find that runners like our races.  Some comments that we have received recently are:

"I loved running around the conservation area!  While we do some park running here in London, there is far too much running around on city streets and sidewalks.  Running in a beautiful park setting helps running take on a whole new meaning.  While your heads-up that the course had some rolling hills was appreciated, the difficulty was acceptable for a couple of old guys relatively new to running."

"Your event was well-organized.  I liked the fact that there wasn’t a “race kit” – a bag full of coupons, brochures about future events and samples of anything from cranberry juice to running magazines.  Just something to stow away someplace safe while you run your race, and then throw out when you get home.  And while there was no shirt included with your very low registration fee, the very reasonable $5 extra for a souvenir technical shirt was too good to pass up."

"I was also impressed with the number of volunteers and water stations – lots of folks to cheer us on "

"Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I really enjoyed your race. I thought it was well run by your team and a very good time for all. I do not live in the local area but I will certainly be back next year."

"Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for the great job you do organizing the races.  They are consistently well run, accurately routed and timed.  We have participated in other races (not nearly as well organized) so it really makes us appreciate yours. "

About Event

We specialize in the small race experience, well measured, marshalled courses with fast accurate chip timing.

The Billy Taylor 5k April 17th, has one of the flattest fastest courses around.  The Billy Taylor 15k starts in the heart of the University and travels out on beautiful country roads and back.  The first 10k may be the fastest you ever run.

The Guelph Lake 5k and 10k June 6th, are run on beautiful paved, rolling roads within the Conservation area.

The Summer's Night 5k, a flat and fast 5k, run at twilight, July 6th.  Goes through the Homewood grounds.

The Fergus 10k, run on beautiful roads along the Grand River, last year produced some of the fastest results in a local race in a long time.

The Falling Leaves Oct 15th is two great cross country races, 5km and7.5km in length. This event is also home to our second annual Trail Half Marathon.    It will be held on the National Championship course at the University of Guelph at the same time as the New Balance Open, where Varsity teams from Canada and the US will compete.

The Guelph Thanksgiving Day Races will have five races, a 100m and 1k race for childrena one mile, a 3k, a 5k  and a 10k. This has in the past been both a big family event and has attracted some of the world's best runners.  Two of our winners have gone on to compete in the Olympics.

The Winter Running Festival will feature two days of racing, November 19th and 20th.  A flat and fast road 5k, followed by both a women's and amen's XC 5k and a trail half marathon

We specialize in good well-run races, accurately measured and timed.  The courses are well marshaled and marked.

All of our races are friendly small local races.  You can pick up your race kit, or register for the race at the start line, (at least half an hour ahead of the start time).   Our sponsors are local businesses, our volunteers are mostly local runners, some of them Canada's best elite runners.  We try to keep things moving, so that you can pick up your race kit on race day, run the race, enjoy some race food, review the results all in the space of two to three hours and get on with your day

We do not offer a free tshirt with each entry in order to keep costs down.  We will be offering a series tech t-shirt at cost ($7). We do have a good collection of age group merchandise prizes.

The Guelph Athletics Society attempts to limit the environmental impact of our races.  See here for details
