WALNUT, Calif. - North Dakota State senior Laura Hermanson broke her second school record of the weekend in the 800 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday, April 18.  She also qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional in the event.  Freshman Leslie Brost also broke her own record in the pole vault at the meet.  The rest of the Bison competed at the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State and notched several NDSU all-time top 10 results.

Hermanson clocked a time of 2:03.21 in the 800 meter invitational race to break the record she had set last year.  She finished behind two NCAA 800-meter champions and posted one of this year's top collegiate times in the country.  The Burnsville, Minn. native also broke the school record in the 1,500 meters yesterday.

Brost broke her own record in the pole vault by two inches. She cleared 13 feet 1 1/2 inches in the invitational section of the event to improve her NCAA Regional qualifying score.

The 4x400 relay team of Devon Wentz, Whitney Carlson, Brittany Gigstead and Heather Zander tied for third in the invitational section with a time of 3:45.26

At the Beach Invitational, junior Brittni Bruenjes won the triple jump with a mark of 39-3, setting a personal best and recording the eighth best mark ever at NDSU.   In the long jump, she finished third with a leap of 18-7 3/4.

Sophomore Whitney Carlson ran a time of 11.91 in the 100 meter dash to set a personal best.  She also has tied for the third on the NDSU all-time performance charts in the event.  Carlson also finished tenth in the 100 hurdles in 14.30.

Junior Sammantha Kouba tied for second in the pole vault, clearing 12-1 1/2.  Her mark ties a personal best and is fourth all-time at NDSU.

Senior Halley Odegaard tied for sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-5.  The 4x100 relay team of Jennifer Nagberi, Brittany Page, Kristen Killoran and Brittni Bruenjes finished seventh in a time of 48.62.  The 4x400 relay was fourth in a time of 3:57.16.  Killoran also finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 39-1 ¾.
