The Eugene Running Company and Fast RunnerZ have combined their resources for a special project: a USATF club - Eugene Running Company Fast RunnerZ.

The group brings together runners of all abilities and ages in the Eugene/Springfield area. The club was formed in 2006 as Eugene Running Company by store co-owner Mike Black. Since then the club has competed in numerous events in the northwest including Butte to Butte, the Eugene and Portland Marathon, and the Hood To Coast Relay. In the summer of 2007, Fast RunnerZ was brought on board to provide elite, professional athletes as coaches for the group and a new logo was created. The new logo is unique to the club and is a combination of the logo of each company.

Max King, a professional athlete with the Oregon Track Club Elite, is the coach for the group, which meets for a group workout every Thursday evening. To find the when and where, visit the group's calendar. Max hasn't been the only professional athlete to help with the group. Members of the local Oregon Track Club Elite, including Matt Scherer and Adam Steele, have dropped in from time to time to socialize and even run with the group. Heather Hanscom, a professional marathoner with Brooks, was the coach from June 2007 to February 2008 and still keeps in contact with some of the runners.

The Thursday group workout is open to anyone; you do not have to be a member of the club to participate in the workout or any other group workouts that Eugene Running Company offers.

Club Standards: There are none! Anyone can be a part!
