My name is Derek Griffiths. I ran track and XC in high school at Washington Senior High in Washington Court House, OH. I finished fifth in the state meet in the 1600 my junior year and second in the 800 my senior year.

I then ran on scholarship at Kent State where I finished second in the indoor conference mile my senior year.

After college, I continued to run and I know am pursuing the goal of finishing a marathon in all 50 states + DC. I have only 15 more to go!

My wife and I started Colorado Runner magazine in 2003 and Colorado Runner Events in 2004. This business venture has allowed me to stay very involved in the running community.
