UC had two injuries, not serious but not enough to risk it. If you noticed, Animashaun was only 5th in the 110H in 14.47. He's clearly faster than that when 100%.
UC ran 3:14.00 in the trials and 3:16.06 in the finals at Penn last year. We'll see if they are ready to do that again this year and where it puts them.
Arcadia and Even Penn this year are a bit too early for the eastern teams to be near their best..Spring just arrived last week and running in the hall does not allow for working on skills like the 110 hurdles or training for sprint relays. It is too bad that more Texas and Florida high schools do not come north to face the Jamaicans, who are only two weeks past Champs prime. UC ran. 1:27 4 by 200 against good competition. Seems like a score of Texas teams have posted 1:25s...who would win in late May or June...UC or the Texans.? it would be closer than the two second gap.
Tiger Invite: 71.6-76.3-77.9-79.1-78.9-79.7-73.5 (10:16.2)
Projected Arcadia: 70-74-76-76-77-77-77-71 (9:58)
Actual Arcadia: 67.6-75.6-74.8-76.3-76.8-79.2-77.7-67.9 (9:55.92)

HopeLB Poly girls get it together in time to challenge the Jamaicans at Penn. They still have the best anchor runner.. Do not see any of the U.S. teams who are ready for the island guys. Too early in the season for the northeast teams, even Union Catholic.
That's not the first time that Alexa has gone out hard and alone but probably the first 3200/2 mile where she did that. She looked a little tired on the 7th lap but looked great on the 8th when she put it all together. When I asked her after the race if she was concerned during that 7th lap she just giggled. No idea how to interpret that! If there's no oMary Cain this kid is all anyone would be talking about. She super and has yet another year to go after this one.

She scratched last night.
Idaho ... Andrew Rafla (8:50.55)
Wyoming ... Jonah Henry 9:03.26 for second in the seeded race. (This one is murkier but we think it's a record).
Those are the only ones tonight but kind of a surprising that Rafla got up for second. Great run by him, beating a Dallin Farnsworth record by almost five seconds. And beating Armstrong by about five seconds.
Washington ... Alexa Efraimson (9:55.92)
Alaska ... Allie Ostrander (10:03.66)
Montana ... Makena Morley (10:16.38)
4 teams under 10:10, but none under 10:09. Great race!
