Cool, bellarmine still won. They didn't have their best showing this weekend either and they still managed to beat Sehome.

At the Capital City 7v7 invitational in Helena, Montana the Bozeman Girls team once again won with an average of 18:05.5 over 3 miles for their top five. Makena Morley ran 17 flat to win over Billings Senior sophomore Christina Aragon in 17:26. Bozeman senior, Jason Holmes, had the fastest time for boys with 15:09 in very windy conditions. The Bozeman boys team had a perfect 7 score to end the day in the 7v7 scoring.

Nice to see Bozeman's top-5 boys all back on the course on the same day! (missing Hunter May since Tiger/Grizz was one of the reasons Bozeman dropped in the NW Rankings)

Explain how bellarmine prep girls are not ranked in the top 5 when they beat St. Marys at Stanford and will beat #5 ranked Sehome this weekend at hole in the wall???

Looks like we were both right - Bellarmine Prep did win Hole in the Wall, but Sehome would have won if they ran their full lineup (they were missing one of their top-3, Ruby Watson, which would have left Bellarmine Prep ahead at only one spot - #5, but Sehome held even bigger advantages with three that would have been comfortably ahead of BP's #1).

What teams in the top 50 has Central Catholic raced besides Kamiakin?

I'm not sure the relevance?

These rankings aren't based off of who you have beaten as a team. They are about how good of a team you have, based on how well your individual athletes have done over the last 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks, etc. You don't need to run against and beat a ranked team in order to be ranked.

Well, we will see what happens this weekend. But as for Stanford, that wasn't exactly St. Mary's best race - their normal #2 should have been right with Paige Rice at that race, and that difference alone would have put St. Mary's ahead of Bellarmine. Their #3 also had a similar (though not as drastic) bad day.

That's not to say Bellarmine had a great day either - just that the difference between where they have been this year, and where they were that day, was even more drastic for St. Mary's than Bellarmine.

But if it makes you feel better, there is VERY little difference between Sehome, Camas, and Bellarmine Prep in the battle for NW Top-5 and "Best in Washington" honors.

Even beyond missing Dante, Central Catholic didn't run nearly as well as they have in other meets this year. Sunfair wasn't exactly representative of how good of a team they are, and my rankings aren't based off of one single meet.

I will let watchout speak for himself, but I can tell you that Central Catholic was missing Dante Dalla Gasperina last weekend. He's one of their top five.
The Northwestener
Unless Dante could'vee beaten Andrew Snyder (Which CC's #1 did not) OR Cameron Glade (which Truax, Lomax and Tooley did not do) then Central Catholic would have still lost.
Putting Dante in as their 5th man Kamiakin still beats Central Catholic 26-29 with head to head scoring.
