Her time wasn't up on DyeStat when I updated the lists yesterday. Thanks for catching it.

My unofficial understanding is that a 10th athlete will not be moved up in place of an athlete qualified in two events, such as Tyson and Crouser for the boys. I may well be wrong about that, though. I don't set the policy, I just keep the lists. :)

I wanted to ask about the scoring of individuals. If an athlete posts top ten scores for multiple events, e.g the 800 and 1500, are the point totals for that athlete cumulative or based on his or her best event? Mary Cain is currently listed in the top ten for both the 800 and 1500, but her point total relects only the 1500.

I don't quite follow that last part... Cain's 800m score does not rank in the top-10 overall, if that's what you mean. Every event/mark is scored individually.

According to this site's leaderboard, Mary is #1 in the 800m with a time of 2:06.44 and a point score for that of 1016.18. She had been US #1 for several weeks and is now #2. Is that added to the 1046.37 from the 1500m for the purposes of the rankings for the "NTN Top Ten Individuals" listed at

?

I'm thoroughly confused by your question...

1) She is currently listed #1 in the 800m. I don't see what you're looking at that indicates otherwise. Where are you seeing her #2 in the event, and who are you seeing as #1?

2) The 1046.37 for the 1500m is plain and simply her score for that event. That is also her score that has her #8 currently on the overall top-10. I don't follow your cumulative scoring line of thought.

I was inquiring whether the scores from different events were added together.

I thought I answered that initially ... "Every event/mark is scored individually."

Dan,
I'd check some of those 100m times.... they may very well be wind aided... not sure you wish to use windaided marks..
It could create a quite a controversy... If I am in error please forgive me.

We made the decision early on to allow wind aided marks, as too many HS meets have no wind readings, meaning we would have to ignore a large number of uncertain marks from a few events.

I'm a little confused on how the individual rankings are they done. Are they done on points or times run.

if on Pionts Josh Lampron, Mansfield TC. Mansfield Ma

ran a 3:50.03 in the 1500m @NB Twight and received 996.27 Points

Would this Score put him in the top 10 for the 1500m/ 1600m/ 1 mile catagor?

Thanks you

It's purely by points, so Lampron's time would qualify for the list. I'll add him as soon as I can find a link for the results.
