Jesse, what do you usually do the day of a big meet? Like what kind of foods/drinks to you consume.

Also, what do you do for warm ups?

btw sick 2.32

I almost always have cereal for breakfast and a light lunch but sometimes when I am in europe i have no choice but to eat what they have here. So I am not picky at all anymore. I do a lot of active stretching and skipping for warm up. I also do a neuromuscular warmup about 4 hours before I compete to wake the body up.

It's ok I didn't invent duck butter, I don't want it as my name either. Duck butter is funny indeed, but its not something I want to jar up and cherish. It is not delicious either, thats sick dave

btw you guys think it's possible for someone to improve 4 inches in 2 weeks? :S

I'm getting very, VERY aggravated by jumping 6'4" almost every single meet (my PB is 6'5"). Today, I cleared 6'4" on my third attempt and I was way over it, but then at 6'6", I choked.

I've been jumping the whole season on a moderately sore knee (been icing and massaging it every few days), but I really want to break my school record which is 6'8".

I don't know if it's just a mind thing, but you elites have any tips for me?

Penso,
It's possible for one to PB by 4 inches over a two week time span. Usually beginners, but I went from 6'8 to 7'0 in a two week time span in high school.

I don't see how The Meyo Invite at Notre Dame wasn't considered one of the top 3 meets this past weekend by most sites. 6 to 7 Jumpers went over 7ft. I'm was fortunate to give them all a run for their money. 2.17 is probably the magic number for the Big Show.

For the record I pr'ed from 6 feet to 6'4" when I was in high school I have seen crazier thngs. Full coverage of the olympic trials would be hard to come by. I have all my jumps from the trials but thats not even close to everything. I know usatf has coverage of everying. I can look into asking them about getting a hold of it. And finally the meyo invite was huge last weekend. It had thebest high jump country that the nation has seen as far as depth goes. I was impressed whe I opened up stats from that meet. And finally right now I am in slovakia and its a hard place for the internet but once I get it I have a ton of updates for the site so stay tuned!

When did you start high jumping jesse? And what year were you when you went from 5'9 to 6'6 (fresh, soph, jun, or senior)?

btw this is kinda random but do any of you jumpers know anyone with the asics turbo high jump spikes? mine will arrive at my house tomorrow :P
