Glad the forum is up and running. I've got a quick question. Just bought a new camera for the XC season with the hopes of getting some video up, however for whatever reason I can't get video uploaded. I get the 'unknown content' screen, or maybe 'content unspecified', however after 24 hours I still can't view the video. I've had some videos up in the past and don't know why this would be a problem. Maybe there is a codec issue I am missing on my end? The video is shot in MPEG2, I've used lower and medium quality, and tried changing screen width ratio's even. It may be something on my end, but I can't figure it. Any advice?
Keep up the good work, the forum should take off quickly.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with that. The MPEG2 format should work, but use this program to make it work for sure. http://www.squared5.com/ In the options pick quicktime, H264, 100%. That should lower the file size as well. It is the best program out there.
Let me know if it works,
Ross

Can you put youtube videos in your post or just embed them on the video page?
Instead of uploading a video, you can just put in the video id (from the youtube url). This will add it to our video directory and to your profile video page. It takes about 5 seconds to do!!

Belated thanks for the reply. Recently began to tackle this issue again. Thanks for the info on the squared 5, I converted it to MPEG4 but still had the same issue. The video I use has AC3 audio, and I had to download an AC3 codec just to watch the video on Windows MediaPlayer on my own computer.
Yesterday I put a short test video on here, but still same issue. It's still up in the new video section. I kept it as MPEG2. Here are the specs on the video, maybe it could shed some light as to why the site is having problems with it:
Type: MPEG program stream
Duration: 0:00:06
Data Size: 2.13 MB
Bit Rate: 2.75 Mbps
Video Tracks: 224 MPEG-2, 720x480, 29.9699999999fps, 9.10 Mbps, upper field first
Audio Tracks: 128 AC3 2/0, 48kHz, 256 kbps
Stream Files: 20080907142304.mpg (2.13 MB)
I have a video up on YouTube which I was unable to get up here, so I can obviously post it here through there and that can work in the meantime. I'd rather post things right through here though than have to use youtube.
Thanks for the help. Glad the forum has taken off nicely.

I have a DVD recorder that records in VOB format. I think I need to download a converter to get it in a format that Runnerspace can handle. What formats does Runnerspace use? What is recommended? Any suggestions on a converter program?

As stated above, you should try the Squared 5 program at: http://www.squared5.com/ (FREE)
The suggested codec would be H.264 with AAC audio.
