Nice run by Jake Leingang, 14:11 is really fast. And look at the two young guys behind him, both in 14:28. Those two, Elswick and Armstrong, set themselves up nicely to get a lot of attention going into fall cross country.

Jake Leingang and Edward Cheserek are set to be teammates at Oregon in the fall.

Question for the winner of the Octathlon/Decathlon: What do you do to deal with their extremely hot and humid conditions in Greensboro? Besides hydrating and keeping cool, anything special to make sure your fresh and ready to go throughout the competition?

To Kendell Williams -- why focus on the 100m Hurdles instead of try the heptathlon or high jump?

Is the Swedish Relay (100-200-300-400) a commonly held event outside of this meet? I don't recall ever running across that format in results before. We need a distance version of it ... 800-1500-3000-5000! :) Sprint = Swedish ... Distance = Danish? Mmm, donuts.

Let's not forget about Jack Keelan as well. He ran a great race and just ran out of steam. Most underrated distance runner in the nation. He will be in the mix for the mile tomorrow. Also..Keelan is heading to Stanford. The Pac 12 talent base should be filthy deep the next four years!

If you are going to ask any questions to the champions - did they peak for ths meet or hold their peak from their state meet. For FL & TX athletes, it would mean another month etc.

I'd like to hear a few general questions asked:
  • You were probably peaking for your state meet which already happened. How do you get yourself up physically and mentally to win in a post season competition such as NBN?
  • How did the this meet differ for you than competition in your own state?
  • Did you know who your competition was going into this competition, and did that change your strategy at all?
  • (For seniors) Tell us about your college plans
  • (for distance runners) How do you transition from a top post-season competition such as this into Cross Country training? How much of a break will you take before you start to build back up?
