Tuba City's Orman runs second-fastest 1,600 in the country
There's never a slow day for Billy Orman. The Tuba City senior, who's bound for Harvard in the fall, nearly set the Arizona high school state record in the finals of the 1,600-meter race at the Division III track and field championships at Mesa Community College on Friday.
Orman took first in 4 minutes, 6.75 seconds, which is the second-fastest high school time in the country this year, but .31 seconds off the Arizona record, set by Phoenix Greenway's Jeff Cannada in 1983.
