Guelph marathoners in the running for Olympic berths
GUELPH — There’s a bit of a chess match going on to see which Guelph runners will run for Canada in the marathon at the 2012 Olympics.
There are currently five runners with a shot of earning one of Canada’s three spots in the marathon in London this summer and three of them run for Guelph’s Speed River Track and Field Club.
Currently two runners—Guelph’s Reid Coolsaet and Eric Gillis—have met the Canadian Olympic standard. The other three are close.
