For hard-core track junkies, coverage of the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in the daily newspaper or on television news just doesn’t satisfy.

They want more: More interviews, more details, more discussion of the night’s events.

For that, a handful of running-centric Web sites with ambitious hopes for the future are providing video clips, still photographs, blogs and forums so track fans can indulge their appetite for news of the fleet. (One thing you won’t see on these sites is video highlights of the actual track and field events during the Trials. NBC Sports owns exclusive rights to the meet and isn’t about to let some Web site steal its thunder.)
