I didn’t run in high school or college, I rode bulls in Pro Rodeo. No, seriously. Bulls.
I got started racing by Coach Benson in Atlanta 4 years ago, got VO2max tested and scored a 91.8, then realized I should get serious about racing the very same day! That was a year and a half ago. Currently Scott Simmons, Head Coach at Queens University in Charlotte, coaches me and I look forward to lowering my PR’s every year until I get old and wrinkled.
Upcoming Goals: My most important goal right now is to grow new heels after loosing them in Oregon (I ran Leg 1 for our team at Hood to Coast!) Once that is finalized, I want to do well at Cross Nats, run a strong indoor season this winter, and then bring that fitness out to the track in the spring.
Memorable BAC Moment: A Fred Myers parking lot, blood everywhere, and Brian McGovern saying, “He’s fine. Gimme the duck tape…”
I suffer from occasional nightmares due to that.

Women
Mission Statement - To develop women distance runners with national and international potential through a comprehensive training program that includes knowledgeable coaching, club organization, and supplemental training resources. In this ‘farm club” or developmental environment, these “second tier” athletes would be able to train with a peer group, receiving comprehensive training programs and coaching that included training phases, goal setting, and race planning to help them step up to the next level of competition. Through the support of Nike, these athletes would be given the resources of shoes and apparel, as well some travel benefits dependent on their abilities and improvement. Having the opportunities often limited to elite athletes who have already proven themselves in the national and international arena, will enable these women to reach their potential.
Coaching Philosophy - We believe in the potential of the American women distance runner.
We believe that training in a club atmosphere will provide for the serious competitor the motivation, the competition, and the camaraderie to enable her to step up to the next level of racing.
We believe in a comprehensive coaching program that involves cutting edge training theories, team training and racing, supplemental training support, health care, directed mental preparation, and racing education.
We believe that our unique and consistent coaching style based on patient and thoughtful training methods will bring the runner to their full potential.
We believe in coaching to develop the power and endurance of the body, the mind, and the soul of our team.
As coaches we are committed to the team with our time and our thoughtful planning and effort, and we expect in return complete commitment of the runner to pursue her goals and dreams through dedicated training and impassioned racing.
If you are committed to seriously pursuing your goals and dreams as a distance runner please contact coaches Charlotte Richardson and Sean Coster below.
