THIS YEAR: One of the premier distance runners in the NAIA, national champion and 4-time All-American Lauren Jimison is a key figure in Azusa Pacific's defense of its NAIA outdoor national crown ... Excels at the long distances ... Noted for the consistency she can maintain over long runs ... Will press for the NAIA titles in the 5000- and/or 10,000 meters.

 

2010 (sophomore): Put together arguably the finest track & field season ever by a Cougar sophomore distance runner ... Captured her first NAIA individual title by winning the indoor 5000-meters with a 17:15.13, beating her nearest competitor by 12 seconds ... Is the first Cougar ever to win an indoor 5000 championship ... Tacked on a couple more All-America honors by finishing as the NAIA runner-up at the outdoor championships in both the 5000- (17:26.66) and 10,000-meters (36:24.88), tallying 16 valuable points toward the Cougars' national championship that they won by a mere point ... At the GSAC Championships, set the conference record by winning the 10,000 in a time of 35:49.34, the second-fastest time in Azusa Pacific history ... At the Mt. SAC Relays, clocked the third-fastest 5,000 in school history with a 16:47.33 ... Also recorded a 9:43.28 in the 3000-meters, third best on the all-time Cougar charts ... Registered a 4:42.81 in the 1500-meters at the Occidental Invitational late in the season.

 

2009 (freshman): Enjoyed a fine 2009 debut season to her college career, picking up her first All-America honor in her first national meet by finishing fifth in the 5000-meters (17:48.09) at the NAIA Indoor Championship Meet in Johnson City, Tenn. ... At the NAIA Outdoor Championships in Edwardsville, Ill., finished 15th in the 10,000-meters (38:43.20) and qualified for the 5000 but did not start her prelim race ... On the conference level, finished second in the 10,000 (season-best 36:42.78) ... Recorded her first-ever sub-18-minute 5000 with a 17:59.29 at the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa Pacific.

 

CROSS COUNTRY: Has developed into one of Azusa Pacific's most decorated cross country runners in program history ... Is a 2-time NAIA All-American, finishing seventh (18:20) at the 2009 NAIA Championship Meet and fifth (17:53) last fall (only 6 Cougars ever has won multiple All-America honors in cross country) ... As a 2008 freshmen, played a key role as the No. 5 runner in helping Azusa Pacific capture its first-ever NAIA national championship ... Is a 3-time All-GSAC honoree as well, finishing as the conference runner-up in 2009 when she recorded a personal 5K best of 17:22, the fifth fastest time in Azusa Pacific history ... Has competed in 17 cross country meets during her 3-year career.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a prominent figure in track & field and cross country at Capital Christian High in Sacramento, Calif. ... Started the girls' cross country program at Capital Christian ... Was a 3-time Golden Empire League and 2-time CIF Sac-Joaquin cross country champion ...Also competed in 3 state meets, best showing was as a senior when she finished 14th in the 2007 Division IV meet, clocking a 19:13 on the Woodward Park course ... As a 2006 junior, finished 30th in the state division V meet with a time of 20:18 ... Finished 54th as a 2005 sophomore at the state meet with a 21:07 ... Also ran 3 seasons of track & field where she was a multiple Golden Empire League champion and as a senior was fifth at CIFs in the 3200 meters.
