THIS YEAR: Third-year Cougar Ferin Barry is looking to take a step up in her contribution to the program ... Hoping to clear 10 feet in the pole vault and possibly be a scorer at the GSAC meet.

2010 (sophomore): Competed in a variety of events over the course of the indoor and outdoor seasons during her 2010 sophomore season, and showed her most promise in the pole vault where she cleared a colle3giate career best of 9' 9 1/4" in a last chance indoor qualifying meet in Azusa in last February ... At the GSAC Championship Meet in Santa Barbara, competed in the 400 hurdles (did not advance out of prelims) and the pole vault (no heighted) ... Recorded hurdle career-bests of 9.30 (60-meters) and1:18.89 (400-meters)

2009 (freshman): Appeared in a handful of indoor and outdoor meets during her 2009 freshman season ... Posted a personal best of 9' 3 1/4" to finish seventh in the GSAC Championship Meet pole vault.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 2-sport standout at Kent-Meridian High in Kent, Wash. ... Earned 4 varsity letters in track & field competing for head coach Erine Ammons ... Was a 3-time 4A district qualifier between the pole vault and 300-meter hurdles ... Posted a career-best vault of 10' 6" during her 2008 senior season to finish second at the sub-division meet ... Recorded a best of 50.41 in the 300 hurdles ... Named team MVP as a senior ... Also lettered 4 years in soccer (sweeper) ... Also lettered in soccer and was named team MVP as a junior and senior ... Competed in gymnastics as a senior and was named most improved.
