2012 Pink Buffalo Stampede

Time: 10K & 5K - 9:00am start.
Location: Richardson Park - Fern Ridge Reservoir - Eugene, Oregon
Directions: From Eugene, take HWY 99 North. Turn left on Clear Lake Rd for 8.1 miles. Turn left on Richardson Park Rd and turn left after the toll booth. Your entry fee includes a parking pass. You will receive your pass when you pick up your packet. Click here for a MAP.
Distances: 5K / 10K
Entry Fees: $20 - adults, $15 - youth 17 & under and seniors 60 & over through June 22. Add $5 to all entry fees on race day.
Registration: In person through Friday, June 22, 12pm noon, at Eugene Running Company (116 Oakway Center) or on race day, from 7:30am to 8:45am. For an ENTRY FORM, CLICK HERE. Race day registration/packet pick-up is from 7:30am-8:45am.
Shirts: The pre-order t-shirt option closed on June 11th. If you pre-ordered a shirt and your size is not available, you may choose a different size or receive a refund on race day. There will be a limited quantity of technical shirts available for purchase on race day for $12/each - first come first serve, cash or check only.
Timing Chip: You will receive a zip tie in your packet to attach the timing chip to your shoe. The zip tie works in one direction, so make sure you hear it click. If it isn't secure, flip it over and insert the zip tie in the other direction. We will clip the chip off of your shoe when you finish the race. There is a $20 fee for unreturned chips. Please wear your racing bib on the front of your t-shirt. Click below for online registration.
Courses: Both the 5K and 10K are flat, fast and incredibly scenic, on the shores of Fern Ridge. The 10K consists of two of the 5K loops. Click here for a COURSE MAP.
Buffapede Competition: Teams may be all male, all female, or co-ed. If your team is co-ed, at least one male must be on a team with females and at least one female must be on a team with males. Teams must have four runners tethered together for the duration of the race. Please indicate your team name on your entry form. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male, female and co-ed teams.
Post-Race Celebration: Stick around after the stampede for music, a beer garden, refreshments and awards.
Awards: The overall male and female finisher and the top three in each age group in each event will receive awards. All participants will be eligible for random prize drawings.
Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
Costume Contests: There will be prizes for the best male and female Pink Buffalo, as well as the best costumed buffapede team. Tutus, superhero costumes and creativity are encouraged!
Frequently Asked Questions: Strollers are permitted. Please line up towards the back at the startline and stay to the right unless passing another runner. Friendly dogs on leashes are permitted on the courses. There is a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10K course, which is just over 14 minutes per mile pace.
Beer Garden: The Rogue beer garden will be available to individuals 21 years and older. Rogue is sponsoring the first cup for participants and if you'd like to consume more than one glass, bring cash, as they are $4/cup. Please bring your ID Card if you wish to enter. Minors will not be allowed into the beer garden.
Post-race Food: Red 5 Hotdog Company will be serving fabulous dogs for $4/each with over 20 types of toppings to choose from. There will be Track Town Pizza, fruit, and bagels as well.
Beneficiary: A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Buffalo Scholarship Fund, which is available to first generation college students attending either a university or a community college. To read more about the scholarship, see GIVING BACK .
