Crouser Discus Throw record and best ever Shot/Discus double

PORTLAND, Ore. – Ryan Crouser walked away from the high school discus and shot on Saturday after taking one last stab at doing something special with them.

Crouser inquired about the best one-day double in prep history and got the answer from Jack Shepard from Track and Field News. Mason Finley threw 71-03.25 and 223-04 on April 20, 2009.

On Saturday at the Summer Open at the Concordia Throws Center, Crouser broke Finley’s U.S. discus record and also topped his double.
