Farrah Madanay was named to the C-USA Women's Cross Country All-Academic team. It is her first selection.

Three Rice athletes were named to the C-USA Men's Cross Country All-Academic team. Matt Carey, Gabe Cuadra and Wyatt Doop were honored by the league.

Rice's men's cross country squad finished sixth at the NCAA South Central Regional, beating squads such as LSU, Baylor and Houston. Gabe Cuadra had an All-Region performance.

Rice's women's cross country squad finished 11th at the NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Ark. Marie Thompson led the Owls with a 32nd placed finish.
