Spokane women win 9th consecutive NWAACC Track and Field championship

SPOKANE, WA -- The Spokane Sasquatch women (201 pts) win their 9th consecutive title outdistancing runner up Lane (168 pts) by 33 points and 95 points ahead of third place Mt. Hood (106 pts).

Spokane placed first in 10 of the 21 events and also recorded three second place finishes.

Shayle Dezellem of Spokane was high point winner on the ladies side scoring 43 points, winning this award for the second time. Dezellum took three first place finishes, including one as a member of the 4X400 meter relay team and was the winner of the Heptathlon earlier in the month.

Women's Outstanding track athlete of the meet was Mikel Elliott of Spokane for winning the 3k Steeple, 1500 and 5k along wit the winning 4x400 relay team

Women's Outstanding field athlete of the meet was Mt. Hood's Terra Zodrow, winning the long jump and placing 2nd in the Heptathlon.

Lane's Grady O'Connor was voted Women's Coach of the Year.
