The crowning of new BIG EAST indoor 400-meter champion Pariis Garcia and successful defense of the Red Storm's 4x400-meter relay conference crown from last season underlined a spirited collective effort by the St. John's track & field team on Sunday's final day of the 2015 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championship, which saw head coach Jim Hurt's squad earn a spot on the women's team podium. Scoring 128 team points over the two-day meet staged at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan, St. John's placed third in the women's standings to earn a team trophy in addition to collecting nine individual medals.
