Traditionally, the University at Albany cross country program will being each season racing in the America East Pre-Conference Meet, which is held on the course where the America East Championship will be hosted in November. The idea is to use the first time on the year's championship course to become familiar with its layout, as well as to set a base time from which the athletes and coaches can measure a season's worth of progression when the team returns two months later.
