The 2014 America East cross country season kicked off last weekend, with the University at Albany foregoing the traditional Pre-Conference meet and instead returning to Binghamton, site of last year's championship race. In a dual meet with the Bearcats, UAlbany senior Molly Pezzulo won the women's 5K race among a field of 13 competitors. Her performance earned her the first America East Performer of the Week award issued for the 2014 cross country season. The award is the first of Pezzulo's career at UAlbany. Pezzulo shares the award with Vermont's Dan Maroney, who won the men's race at the Pre-Conference meet in Maine.
