Kyle MacIntosh's brave battle ends CU athlete inspired many with his fight against cancer By Kyle Ringo BuffZone.com Writer POSTED: 01/29/2015 Hundreds of people posted messages on social media sites Thursday night praising Kyle MacIntosh and the life he led. Many of them didn't know the Colorado sprinter and hurdler but were touched by his brave fight with cancer. Two of MacIntosh's best friends, David Brewster and Erin Sanders, spent time in his room at his parents' home in Highlands Ranch marveling at all the medals, ribbons and trophies he won during his love affair with running and competition. MacIntosh died Thursday afternoon at Children's Hospital in Aurora surrounded by family and friends who never left his side after he was admitted Dec. 26 following a brain aneurysm. He was 23.
