Wildcats head to Big Sky Indoor Championships

The Wildcats will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. to take part in the Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 26-28. The men's team qualified 21 athletes while the women's team will send 17. Stokes time of 4:43.12 is nearly five seconds faster than the second fastest time in the conference. She will also look to pick up some points in the 3,000 meters. Also in the 3,000 meters, Ellie Child has the chance to make some noise as she has the third-fastest time in that event. Ashley Kealamkia and Taylor Cox will contend in the 800-meters as they have the sixth and seventh best times respectively. lt;br />Paige Cooper will look to improve on her seasonal-best mark of 5-07.00 in the high jump as she enters the weekend ranked fourth. Jazmin Porter is ranked in the top four in both the shot put and weight throw. Last year, Porter placed seventh in the shot put. lt;br />MEN'S PREVIEW: Tony Osheku Jr. will hope to see his stellar season continue this weekend as he will have a target on his back. His time of 21.57 set this past weekend increased the lead he had at the top of the 200-meters. He also has the third-fastest time in 60-meters this season. Trevor Ricks will enter the meet with the fourth-fastest time in the men's mile. He will face stiff competition in Montana State's Cristian Soratos, who currently leads the nation, and Southern Utah's Mike Tate. lt;br />Anthony Gregory will look to improve on his All-Conference performance from a year ago as he enters the high jump ranked third. lt;br /> lt;br /> lt;br />MORGAN MEANS BUSINESS, SETS FRESHMAN MARK lt;br />Emily Morgan, a freshman from Vancouver, Wash., picked up another victory in the 55-meter dash at the Wildcat Indoor Open.
