'Cats host successful Wildcat Outdoor Open

OGDEN, Utah The Weber State men's and women's track and field team picked up two more Big Sky qualifiers and a handful of personal-bests over three meets this weekend. The Wildcats hosted the Wildcat Outdoor Open and competed against the top teams in the state and Big Sky conference. lt;br />"This is the busiest for week of the year for us," Director of Track and Field Dan Walker said. "We have three different meets that we have athletes participating in throughout the week. I was pleased with the performances that we had across the board. Our 4x100 team improved by nearly a second and we had some good marks at our home meet on Saturday." lt;br /> lt;br />Bengal Dec/Hep Fest lt;br />Tyler Kendell and Lauren Thomas both participated in the multi-event meet in Pocatello on Wednesday and Thursday. Kendell scored a personal-best 5873 placing third. Thomas placed fifth with a score of 4014. lt;br /> lt;br />Utah Spring Classic lt;br />On the women's side, Emily Morgan picked up the victory in the 100-meters with a wind-aided time of 11.75. She also placed fifth in the 200-meters with a time of 25.18. Alexandria Van Halder placed seventh in the 200-meters with her time of 25.23. lt;br />Tawnie Moore took second in the 110-meters in 13.99. She is only the sixth Wildcat to have ever broken 14 seconds in that event. Kiersten Watkins ran the 10th fastest 400-meter hurdle time in school history with her time of 1:01.63. The 4x100 meter relay ran a seasonal best time of 46.79 as they placed second. lt;br />Jazmin Porter took second in both the discus and hammer with marks of 46-01.50 and 169-06.25. Natasha Powell took third in the hammer with her mark of 169-02.25. lt;br />On the men's side, Tony Osheku Jr. ran a personal-best in the 100-meters in a time of 10.69. He took third in the 200-meters in a time of 21.81. Ryan Carlson tied his personal-best time in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.97. Isaac Akers and Dustin Durfee placed second and third i
