Thanks to the return of all of its top seven runners and the addition of its most impressive recruiting class ever, the Yale men s cross country team is entering the 2014 season with especially high expectations. On Tuesday, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association appeared to validate those high expectations, ranking Yale as the fifth-best team in the Northeast Region in its preseason poll. Perhaps even more notably, the Bulldogs also received six votes in the national preseason poll—making them one of just 10 teams outside of the top 30 to receive votes.
