The Yale women s track and field team competed at the first day of the 2015 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships this Saturday. Many of the preliminary rounds of the day s running events, as well as several field events took place. By the day s end, one Yale athlete had walked away with a new school record. Junior Mackenzie Mathews ran the fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles since 1983. Her time of 8.85 allowed her to take fourth place in the toughest field of the season thus far, qualifying her to compete during finals on Sunday.
