In 2004, Sam Pawluk represented Canada as a junior at the World Cross Country Championships in Brussels, Belgium.

Now almost eight years later, he's running for Canada again - at this weekend's North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad - in his first international competition since Worlds in 2004.

He'll be racing the senior men's eight-kilometres, on Saturday at 4:35 pm local time.

Despite some minor setbacks in training this winter, he has recently run a 15:08 5-km on the roads, and 25:06 in a windy 8-km road race.
